From 23 July to 5 September 2003 the great musical festival Santa Fiora in Musica returns to the delight of all music lovers from Amiata and Italy, which also this year reserves top quality appointments.
The concert venues are wonderful, as usual: from the La Peschiera auditorium, inaugurated last year, which offers a breathtaking setting for listeners, as well as the necessary technical qualities for the performance of great pieces, to the parish church of common, the church of Sant'Agostino, Piazza Garibaldi, the Bagnare park and so on.
As usual, we will be able to listen to important international artists. At the inauguration, the concert in favor of UNICEF cannot be missed, with music by Mozart and Britten. It continues with a recital by the accordionist Edurne Garcìa Elizade (July 26); the Italian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Massimo Zanetti, solo violin Domenico Pierini, music by Mozart and Beethoven (31 July); the Almadin Quartett on 4 August; the Trio Malipiero on 6 August; the Italian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Julian Salemkour with the reciting voice of Andrea Buscami in "Pierino e il lupo" by Prokovief and in a symphonic poem commissioned by the festival to F. Traversi and performed by Patrizia Scivoletto (8 August); the Infernal Trio on 10 August; Fabrice Moretti on 11 August; Wind & Brass conducted by Stefano Mangini and the Italian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Yukio Kitahara on the 13th; the Banda Pozzi on the 15th; the Living Tango Hiperyon Ensemble on the 17th; the Italian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Augusto Vismara in "Vivaldiana" on the 18th; The Titanic Orchestra on the 20th; the Barbara Casini Quartet ilo 21; the Santa Fiora Work Shop Jazz Ensemble on the 22nd; "All Stars Jazz Night" on 23rd; the Italian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Dale Clevenger in music by Beethoven, Mozart and Schubert on the 22nd in Grosseto, on the 23rd in Castiglion della Pescaia and on the 24th in Santa Fiora; the "Piano Gala" of the Chigiana soloists recommended by Achucarro on the 26th; Fabrice Moretti on the 27th; the Italian Brass Ensemble conducted by Clevenger on the 28th; the "BrasSerie" on the 29th; the Italian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Mario Bruno with music by Wagner, Bartók, Mozart and Schubert on the 30th; the double bass quartet All'Ottava Sopra on September 1st; the Italian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Clevenger on September 4th and, in closing, on the 5th "A Tutta Musika", an itinerant musical day, with quintets, quartets, small chamber groups and orchestra with soloists throughout the day.
