Rubén SIMEO Gijon, born in Spain in 1992, began studying music at the Conservatory of Vigo
with his father. Just eight years, she won First Prize at the International Music Competition of
the City of Vigo, which won an award for three consecutive years. Ten years in Madrid gets the
Second Prize at the International Yamaha, winning the competition the following year. By the
age of eight years he played as a soloist in Musical Agrupacion O Rosal, the Harmonie
Municipale Moncao (Portugal) and the brass nell'ensemble EPMViana do Castelo, and performs
in duo with piano throughout Europe. At eleven years he participated in programs known as El
Conciertazo Spanish television, he played with the Symphonic Band of the Autonomous
Community of Madrid at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid, and performs with the ensemble
Brass Spanish Brass. Following courses with Maurice André, Pierre Dutot, Enrique Rioja, Jose
Orti, Eric Aubier, Luis Gonzalez, Stephen Burns. On December 25, 2004 she performed as
soloist with the Symphonic Orchestra of RTVE for the Christmas concert for Spanish television.
He also played with the symphony orchestras of Viana do Castello, Leon, Palma de Mallorca,
Cannes, Valencia and Alicante, doing tours in countries such as Belgium, Germany, Portugal and
France.
Makes his first recording label at the age of twelve years. In September 2005, obtained the
Second Prize at the International Philip Jones Guebwiller in France and in January of 2006 the
Second Prize at the Selmer Trumpet Competition in Paris. From 2005 to 2006 he followed the
course of a trumpet by Guy Touvron at the Conservatoire National de Région in Paris. In
November last year he participates and wins the Second Prize at the prestigious Maurice André
International Competition of the City of Paris, receiving among other compliments by Master
Andre in person. In 2006 he won the Second Prize at the International Competition in Porcia
and earlier this year won the International Competition of Benidorm.
Currently Ruben was the last student of Maestro Maurice André.
