The composers Arnaldo De Felice, Angelo Inglese, Stefan Johnsson are the authors of the three pieces that will be performed in world premiere by over 100 musicians arranged on Ponte Vecchio, on the bank of the Arno River, near the Circolo Canottieri Firenze and on board the historic boats of the Florentine Renaioli.
The three compositions, commissioned by the Festival, have as their fulcrums the water and those precious divine visions that elaborate our mind during the creation of the musical work of art. Water understood as a primordial element, a vital principle, a source of life, a means of regeneration. Pillar of that life that pulsates, that flows, that is cradled by the Arno river, that canovian 'water of rota', a water of fire heated by the speed of the grinding wheel and by the friction of the sculptors' chisels, which colors and now restores the colouristic timbres of the brass, now those lights of the Florentine marbles at sunset. The water that returns from Canova to Dante and his divine poem, reminiscent of the execution of 'Born from leaves and frost. Moss. Wind of the woods' from the Song of Hell, pushing us from that cold infernal frost, water crystallized into ice, water of infernal fire which, traveling through the three kingdoms, becomes heavenly light, vision, fanfare of light that triumphantly pushes the brass instruments, aboard the historical boats of the Florentine Renaioli, on the Arno, mirror of the firmament, metaphor of that journey by Dante's sea, that 'great sea of being', where the novelty of sound and 'the great light' arouses amazement, as stated by Beatrice.
A fil rouge that, like a perfect circle, will lead us to the discovery of the secret correspondences that bind Dante to Canova, to Pasolini.
