THE FESTIVAL
The 'Italian Brass Week' International Festival reaches its twenty-fourth edition and will take place in Florence from 23 to 28 July 2023.
The Festival was born within the Italian Brass Network cultural and musical association, in collaboration and with the institutional partnership of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, with the contribution of Estate Fiorentina 2023, the Main Sponsorship by CRF Foundation, Pubbliacqua SPA, ANBIMA (Associazione National Autonomous Italian Bands), with the collaboration of the Florentine Chamber Orchestra, the Association of Friends of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Florence Canottieri Society, the 'I Renaioli' cultural association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Florence, Metropolitan city of Florence, international consulates and embassies, with the support of sponsors and technical sponsors.
It is conducted by Maestro Luca Benucci, first horn of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra,
The Festival is dedicated to the recently deceased Roger Bobo.
Roger Bobo, tuba legend was the founder of the Italian Brass Week together with Luca Benucci in the year 2000.
Teaching was one of the foundations of his life, he loved passing on his skills to the new generations, and it is also in this capacity that we had the honor of having him with us for 22 editions, twenty-two long years of the Festival's life.
